The Harkness Rose Company launch The Menopause Charity Rose.

The Harkness Rose Company, renowned British Rose Breeders since 1879, are pleased to announce the launch of the Menopause Charity Rose in conjunction with The Menopause Charity.

Menopause is a hot topic and rightly so as many women need more help and information when it comes to what they are going through.  Every menopause experience will be different and with over 34 symptoms, there often remains much confusion about how to manage this life change.  The Menopause Charity works to educate everybody so that perimenopause and menopause are properly understood.  Each rose will carry information and signpost to a trusted website, so that women, and other individuals experiencing menopause, understand the changes that are happening to them and know what to do next.

This enchanting rose has so many qualities, it’s hard to know where to begin! The foliage is a lustrous emerald green and very healthy, contrasting harmoniously with the attractive light candy pink blooms. Each flower consists of up to 60 petals and has a sublime, fruity perfume.

Jenny Haskey, CEO at The Menopause Charity said: “We are delighted to be launching The Menopause Charity Rose with the Harkness Rose Company, working together to raise funds and awareness of menopause symptoms.  It is a truly beautiful rose, but most importantly each sale will help ensure many more women can access trusted information and support so they don’t suffer needlessly.”

Philip Harkness, Chairman of the Harkness Rose Company said: “This beautiful rose has a compact, bushy growth habit making it suitable for both small and generous spaces. It will also thrive in a large pot.”

Doctor Radhika Vohra, Clinical Trustee at The Menopause Charity said:  “Menopause can have a huge impact on both physical and mental health, it is important that everyone understands the changes that are happening, and know how to manage them.  Making time for self-care is vital during this life change, so enjoying the benefits of being outdoors and the exercise of gardening can have a positive effect on our symptoms.”

The rose will be available to pre-order from 19 May for autumn delivery at www.roses.co.uk or www.worldofroses.com.

£2.50p from the sale of each rose will be paid to The Menopause Charity (a registered charity in England and Wales (charity number 1191332).  The funds raised will help the charity develop online and live chat services, to provide vital support to women and people experiencing menopause symptoms.  It will also ensure that family, friends, co-workers, employers and health care professionals have the information and resources to provide appropriate support.
